The frame is a polymer called Tecaform. In Short, this engineered plastic is virtually unbreakable.
The clamp is known as a binder clamp. No tools are needed to use this clamp. The handles are removable. The clamp measures approx, 2" x 2" x2". The umbrella frame just slides into the clamp allowing the frame to freely rotate. Its clamping power may surprise you.
There are two push button incremental hinges. The lower hinge is to used to square up the frame to the clamps. the upper hinge is to have the umbrella folded over to your liking. Both incremental hinges have a rotaion of 216 degrees at 18 degree intervals.
